This week has seen the arrival of new furniture due to a generous grant from Caritas Italia micro-project fund. The grant covered new settees and individual chairs for both sites and a refit of all the library shelves in the LaValla School library. All of the shelving is on wheels so the space can become multi-purpose. The students have been assisting enthusiastically the librarian in their free time to re-arrange the book collection which is in the two languages taught in the school: Khmer and English. All books will be easier to locate now, and their titles be visible for the keen readers, many of whom take a book to their hostel accommodation for bedtime reading.
Many thanks to Caritas and their generous donors in Italy from the Cambodian students at the LaValla “Maristi” school. Thanks also to the FMSI Rome team for working with our Cambodian staff facilitating the grant proposal to Caritas Italia.
